The China Factor in Global Steel

The McKinsey Quarterly reports on how the soaring demand from China is raising hopes for a profitable era for the suffering steel industry, but recommends foreign players should not view China's boom as the answer to the industry's surplus problem. The report suggests that high-cost steelmakers in Japan, Western Europe, and the U.S. could be worse off than they are today if they maintain or expand their capacity.   Full Story>>
