American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
A nonprofit organization with the primary goal to enhance the global competitiveness of U.S. business & the American quality of life by promoting voluntary standards and conformity. Copies of specs, standards and other information is available on their Website

American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
125,000 member nonprofit engineering society which sets many industrial and manufacturing standards. Find codes, standards and technical publications and forums here.

American Standards of Testing and Materials (ASTM)
Seeks to provide standards, technical information, and contribute to the reliability of materials, products, systems & services. The site has a great list of test labs by name or location around the world.

American Welding Society (AWS)
A nonprofit organization with a goal to advance the science, technology & application of welding and related joining disciplines. Find technical publications, education & certification info here.

Australia - Standards Australia
There are currently about 6,000 Australian Standards. You can select, buy and download them immediately from the site.

Canada - Standards Council of Canada (SCC)
Canada has several thousand national standards. The National Standards System (NSS) controls them. Search the database of standards in English or French or link to EU Standards sites.

Denmark - Dansk Standard (DS)
Home of the Dansk Standards organization. Currently available in Dutch only.

European Committee for Standardization (CEN)
Implements voluntary technical harmonization in Europe in conjunction with worldwide bodies to help diminish trade barriers, promote safety, allow interoperability of products, systems and services, and common technical understanding.

France - Association Francaise de Normalisation (AFNOR)
There are currently 19,000 French standards. Search the site for French and European standards information. The site is available in English or French.

Germany - Deutsches Institut fur Normung (DIN)
Home of the German Institute for Standardization. Search the online database in English or German for copies of DIN standards by keyword or by document number.
